Peptic ulcer disease has one or more sores in the stomach also called Gastric ulcers or Duodenum ulcers. Normally it develops on the inside lining of the stomach and the upper portion of the small intestine. It can also occur in a very rare situation which is called Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
What causes ulcers?
• Some bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori.
• Some medications that are used for pain relief such as aspirin, naproxen, and others.
• Take high doses of NSAIDs.
• A family history of ulcers.
• Having liver, kidney, or lung disease.
• Regularly drinking alcohol.
• Regularly Smoking and use of tobacco.
Peptic ulcers do not cause by stress and spicy foods but these things make it worse. Majorly it occurs due to the bacterial infection of the mucosal lining of the stomach.
Symptoms
• Between meals or at night feel pain in the middle or upper stomach.
• Bloating.
• Heartburn.
• Nausea or vomiting.
• Weight loss
• Dark or black stool sometimes with dark red blood.
There are very rare cases where people have not seen any symptoms. But if you see any of them immediately rush to the doctor.
Treatment:
In modern science, various antibiotic medicines are given to cure this disease, but the fact is that in some cases it occurs only because of some steroid medications.
In physiotherapy, there is a highly effective treatment for peptic ulcer disease, such as acupuncture.
