Sciatica is a common
term for the pain caused by irritation of the sciatic nerve. Anything that
irritates the sciatic nerve can cause pain ranging from mild to severe. The
sciatic nerve is a major nerve with the largest diameter in the human body. It begins
from the lower end of the spinal cord and extends down to the parts of lower
body limbs such as thighs, knees, and feet.

Treatment
Medication: Medication is used to reduce pain,
swelling and inflammation. Drugs like ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen are most
commonly used in sciatica pain.
